About Ryan

(written by Patricia)

Ryan is the best man that I know. Of course I love and adore him in every possible way (except when he leaves his socks on the floor). He is so smart that sometimes it blows my mind. He is almost finished with his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering! One of his favorite things to do is science experiments. For example, one year during a family reunion he made rocket fuel with Oreo filling. The kids loved it!

Ryan is the guy you want around when you need a laugh. He can find a way to make anything fun. It doesn't matter whether we are sitting in church or playing a board game he makes me laugh. He truly lives by the motto work hard, play hard. In fact if he’s not being goofy I just assume he’s in “work mode”. Ryan's "work mode" is a blessing. He is such a hard worker. He has done so much with his education because he prepared to be a husband and father. Every decision he makes in his career is done with his children in mind. I know that he will always be able to provide a comfortable lifestyle for us because he has carefully planned it that way.

Ryan is a great father and husband. He is a fantastic cook and will often make dinner at the end of a long day. The guy is a chef. Seriously! He loves grilling on our patio and we often have BBQ's with friends. I love that Ryan will spend days coming up with a great rub recipe for ribs so he can have something new to try for our next party. In addition to cooking, Ryan is good at encouraging me as a wife. He is a great listener. It's not uncommon for him to bring home flowers when I'm having a bad day.

Whenever he can, Ryan will come home and play with Sam after work (and Sam squeals in excitement when he sees him). They bounce balls together and play tug-o-war with the dog. Ryan is a good father and he really loves spending time with Sam.

Ryan has a lot of hobbies and interests. He plays the guitar and sings very well. He loves boating and wakeboarding. He likes playing video games and sometimes we'll even dress up to play Rock Band (with wigs, bling, etc.). During his childhood he skied a lot and that has become one of his favorite hobbies. Ryan is an Eagle Scout and enjoys camping. He loves sports.  When March rolls around he is usually the one who reminds people to fill out their March Madness brackets. He also loves woodworking and other "man" projects. Someday he wants to build a sand rail (dune buggy) from scratch.

Ryan comes from a fantastic family. He has three older siblings that live in various parts of the country. Although we don't always get to see them when we want to, we get to visit with them on Skype and the phone. We also get together with his family every other year for a week-long family reunion. Ryan's parents are amazing people. All of Ryan's family is excited for us to adopt again. They can't wait for more children to join the family.
